I have been reading and even re-reading books by Kurt Vonnegut Jr. The trigger for seeking out his books was the movie Slaughterhouse Five; a strange and surreal tale with a strong message spiced with lots of humour. The author's writing style is direct and fun to read but with a serious message. From one of the books Graham Greene spoke highly of his writings. I have a high regard for Greene's books and his opinions.

  1. You inspire me to read Slaughterhouse Five again after many years. I mentioned the book to Dave, who likes its dark humour. He is planning to call you tomorrow to talk about it...

    Right now I'm reading The Gargoyle, a first novel by Canadian Andrew Davidson. It's also strange and surreal - about the friendship between a cynical man in hospital with severe burns who is befriended by a female psych ward patient who believes the burned man is her lover from medieval times...
